Chiropractic Treatment at 4 Points

What is Chiropractic Care?

Not just spinal adjustments

Historically, chiropractic has been focused on locating, assessing, and treating vertebral dysfunction and alignment issues, but has evolved to include the management of many conditions that go beyond just the spine. Our advanced education and training allow us to also analyze body mechanics, perform joint/spinal adjustments and even offer important lifestyle advice, including diet and exercise prescription

Though spinal adjustments are an important part of chiropractic care, we also use other manual therapies, to correct misalignments and functional issues that can interfere with your nervous system, leading to pain and reduced function.

Our goal is to restore proper joint movement, alleviate pain, and improve your overall health and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions about Chiropractic Care

What happens during a chiropractic adjustment?

During an adjustment, your chiropractor applies a gentle, controlled force to a specific joint, often in the spine, to restore proper movement and reduce nerve interference. You might hear a "pop" or "crack" sound, which is simply the release of gas bubbles from the joint fluid.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe?

Yes, chiropractic care is widely recognized as a safe and effective treatment for musculoskeletal conditions. Our licensed chiropractors conduct thorough evaluations to ensure chiropractic care is appropriate for your specific needs.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, its severity, and your individual response to treatment. Your chiropractor will discuss a personalized care plan with you during your initial consultation.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

In most cases, you do not need a referral from a medical doctor to see a chiropractor in Alberta. However, we recommend checking with your insurance provider, as some plans may require one for coverage.

Are chiropractors "real" doctors? What kind of education do they have?

Yes, chiropractors are licensed healthcare professionals. They undergo extensive education, typically completing a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, which involves a minimum of 7-8 years of post-secondary education, including a bachelor's degree and around 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training. They must also pass national board examinations and adhere to strict regulatory standards.
