Conditions & Concerns We Treat with Massage Therapy
At 4Points Health & Wellness, massage therapy can be a stand alone treatment approach or part of a broader, integrated care plan. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing pain, or preventing future problems, our Registered Massage Therapists can work closely with our team of physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, psychologists, and trainers to get you lasting results.
1. Back Pain (Upper, Mid, Lower)
From lifting injuries to chronic lumbar discomfort, we address muscle tension, postural strain, and restricted mobility. Massage therapy works alongside movement rehab and spinal care to get you moving again.
2. Neck & Shoulder Pain
Tech neck, whiplash, or stress tension—tight muscles here can lead to pain, stiffness, and even nerve irritation. We use targeted techniques to release tension and restore healthy movement patterns.
3. Headaches & Migraines
Tension-type headaches and migraines are often linked to neck and shoulder dysfunction. Massage can reduce trigger point activity, improve posture, and decrease headache frequency.
4. Sports Injuries
Whether you’re training for competition or just staying active, massage supports recovery from muscle strains, sprains, overuse injuries, and post-game soreness—while helping prevent future setbacks.
5. Postural Strain & Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI)
Conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, golfer’s elbow, or shoulder impingement often stem from repetitive movements or static postures. Massage improves tissue mobility and supports ergonomic changes.
6. Stress & Anxiety
Massage therapy activates your body’s “rest and digest” mode, lowering stress hormones, improving sleep, and promoting a sense of calm—vital for overall wellness.
7. Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
From orthopedic surgeries to C-sections, massage can help reduce swelling, break down scar tissue, and restore functional mobility when used as part of a post-op rehab plan.
8. Chronic Pain Conditions
For persistent pain from fibromyalgia, arthritis, or long-standing musculoskeletal issues, massage provides symptom relief and can improve quality of life and can be combined with other therapies.
9. Pregnancy & Postnatal Support
Gentle, supportive massage helps reduce back and hip discomfort, swelling, and muscle tension during pregnancy—and aids recovery after birth.
10. Joint Pain & Stiffness
Whether from osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, or general mobility restrictions, massage helps improve joint range of motion and supports strength-building exercises.
11. Motor Vehicle Accident Recovery
Reduce pain, restore movement, and support your complete recovery after an accident, with coordinated care and insurance assistance.

Why People Choose 4Points Health Massage Therapy
I booked two separate sessions over a long weekend at 4 Points Health and Wellness — a massage first with Oscar Chavez, then craniosacral therapy with Katie McRory — and both were incredible.
I love coming here to see Paul, I always have a great experience and feel better in my body. Everyone is friendly and I appreciate the array of offerings. Also the booking system is easy, and receptionists are very helpful for any last minute changes.

I've been seeing Alyssia for massage for about a year now and she is the best! She truly understands the anatomy of the body and how muscles work. She takes the time to tailor the treatment to suit your needs/wants. Absolutely would recommend!
Tori M
When I visited 4 points I was thoroughly impressed with not only the friendly staff but also the concept of having experts in so many modalities in one centre that can work together for complete care, which so beneficial as a client!

Frequently Asked Questions about Massage Therapy Care
What are the benefits to Massage Therapy
Massage offers a spectrum of benefits including relaxation, pain relief, improved circulation and flexibility, reduced stress and anxiety, and enhanced sleep and immune function. Evidence suggests it may also reduce headaches, fibromyalgia pain, and ease muscle soreness.
What should I expect from my first massage therapy session
Expect a written health history intake, a private undressing moment (to your comfort), draping for modesty, a discussion about areas of focus, and open communication throughout.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, its severity, and your individual response to treatment. Your massage therapist will discuss a personalized care plan with you during your initial consultation.
Do I need a referral to see a Massage Therapist?
In most cases, you do not need a referral from a medical doctor to see a massage therapist in Alberta. However, we recommend checking with your insurance provider, as some plans may require one for coverage.
Will it be painful?
It really depends on the type of Massage and the concern being treated—pressure can always be adjusted and therapists will stay within your tolerance. Some techniques or sensitive areas may cause temporary soreness similar to after a workout. Communicate with your therapist if discomfort arises.
