Our Story
A Wellness Centre Built for People,
Not Just Patients
When Alyssa Schmidt founded 4Points Health & Wellness in 2014, it began as a small personal training studio built to help people move better, feel stronger, and reconnect with their bodies. Her background in psychology and yoga showed her how deeply the mind and body influence each other. She realized that true healing requires more than just physical exercise — it requires connection.
That insight became the foundation for 4Points: a collaborative wellness clinic where people could access everything they need, not just to heal, but to thrive— from movement and manual therapy to nutrition and emotional support — all under one roof. From small beginnings come great things. What started as a one-room studio has grown into a thriving, multidisciplinary health center serving people across Edmonton live healthier, more connected lives.
The Partnership That Shaped Us
Alyssa’s vision came to life when she met Dr. Brett Klesko, a chiropractor with the same vision: to make healthcare feel integrated, personal, and empowering. Their paths crossed at a local health expo — Alyssa was looking for a chiropractor, and Brett was looking for a new space. “That was the beginning of everything,” Together, they built a clinic that combined structure and strength, movement and mindfulness, evidence and empathy. Despite challenges — including three major floods that forced them to rebuild — they stayed focused on one mission: to serve people through connected, compassionate care.

An Integrated Team Based Model
At 4Points Health & Wellness, we’ve designed our Centre around one simple idea — healing works best when your care team works together. Our integrative multidisciplinary model brings professionals from different health disciplines under one roof — chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, psychology, nutrition, and more. This allows us to treat every aspect of an injury or condition — from muscle and joint health to stress, sleep, and recovery — without sending you from one clinic to another.
Because we collaborate daily, your treatment plans, progress notes, and health information stay connected, not scattered. You won’t have to repeat your story, wait for updates to be shared, or coordinate care between offices — we handle that for you. It also means your extended health benefits are easier to manage. Our insurance coordinator is here to help you navigate direct billing, claims, or any questions you might have about coverage, so you can focus on feeling better — not paperwork.
In short, we make getting the care you need simpler, smoother, and far more effective.
Our Mission
Our mission is to revolutionize healthcare through our unique team-based approach. We strive to provide accelerated healing and optimal health outcomes for every individual, by integrating diverse treatments and expertise
Our Philosophy
Care That Begins With You: At 4Points, we don’t believe in “cookie-cutter” care. We believe in creating personalized, whole-person treatment plans that fit your life. We start by understanding your story — your challenges, habits, and goals. Then we integrate the right blend of movement, manual therapy, and mind-body support to help you move freely and feel your best. “Our goal isn’t to fix people — it’s to help them rediscover their strength and live well.”
Our Approach
Within 4Points, the personal training gym and yoga studio are more than spaces for exercise; they’re where people learn to move with confidence again, reconnect with their bodies, and build strength that supports their recovery. Our approach to care blends movement with manual therapy, mindfulness, and education — because being active isn’t separate from wellness, it’s central to it.
Movement is more than a service we offer — it’s part of how we help people heal.

How Integrated and Client Centred Care
Make a Difference
At 4 Points Health and Wellness, we recognize that health and wellness require looking at the bigger picture. It’s about understanding you as a whole person—your lifestyle, your goals, and the intricate connection between your physical, mental, and emotional state. This approach is the bedrock of everything we do.
But what does that mean when you walk through our doors here in Edmonton?
It means we prioritize you, your needs, and your comfort above the rigid routines of a traditional clinic. We see ourselves as your partners in health, working collaboratively to help you achieve your wellness goals.
Here’s how we bring this integrated and client-centred approach to life:
1. Your Goals Are Our Starting Point: Before we begin a treatment, we begin with a conversation. Are you a runner aiming to get back on the trail without knee pain? An office worker trying to alleviate chronic back tension? Are you carrying the heavy weight of stress, which is contributing to your physical pain? Your personal story dictates our approach. We don't just see a "sore back"; we see an individual who wants to feel lighter, more capable, and in control of their body and mind. Your "why" is the most important piece of information we can gather. From here, we are able to make suggestions on the most appropriate health treatment for you. Sometimes it's a combined treatment plan -physiotherapy combined with massage therapy and personal training.
2. Integrating Mental and Emotional Well-being
We don't just focus on the physical body, we recognize that mental and emotional health are inseparable from physical well-being. The stress of a demanding job, the anxiety of an ongoing issue, or the emotional strain of daily life can all manifest as physical symptoms. Our client-centred approach is designed to be therapeutic for both body and mind. By creating a safe, trusting environment and truly listening, we help alleviate the mental load that often accompanies physical pain. Helping you regain movement and reduce pain can, in turn, significantly boost your mood, confidence, and overall sense of well-being.
3. Individualized Treatment Plans for Your Whole Self
You are unique, and your care plan should be too. Our integrated team works together, with you at the centre, to address how your physical and emotional health interact. We also work with you to see how your health impacts your life in practical ways. A physiotherapist will not only provide exercises but will also empower you with knowledge, reducing the anxiety that comes from an unknown injury and building confidence as you regain strength. Our psychologists empower you with practical, evidence-based strategies to navigate life’s challenges, build mental resilience, and foster a healthier relationship with yourself. Your massage therapist does more than work on muscles; they help regulate your entire nervous system. This is a dedicated time for you to de-stress and release stored physical and emotional tension. An acupuncturist can use specific points to address issues like anxiety, insomnia, and stress, treating the root energetic imbalances that affect both mood and physical comfort. Our chiropractors specialize in how spinal health impacts nervous system regulation, which can improve your body’s ability to manage stress and enhance your overall feeling of wellness.
4. You Are an Active Partner in Your Care
Client-centred care is about empowerment. We are committed to providing you with the information and education you need to make informed decisions. We explain our findings in clear language, lay out treatment options, and discuss how they benefit you as a whole person. Your feedback is a vital part of this process. This collaborative approach ensures that you feel in control of your health journey, leading to more profound and lasting results.
Integrated, Client Centred Care -The 4 Points Difference:
For us, client-centred care isn't just a buzzword. It's our commitment to treating you, not just your symptoms. It's the promise that we see you, we hear you, and we will work with you—every step of the way—to build a healthier, more balanced life.
We're Still Growing
We’re Still Growing — Because Your Needs Keep Evolving
At 4Points Health & Wellness, growth isn’t about getting bigger — it’s about getting better at serving the people who trust us with their care. We’re continually expanding our space, our services, and our team to meet the growing needs of our community. New treatment rooms and collaborative spaces are being added to make it easier for clients to access the care they need — from movement and rehab to mental and emotional support — all in one connected environment. But we’re not finished yet. Our clinic continues to evolve as we explore new ways to support health and wellness beyond our walls. We’re developing corporate wellness programs that integrate movement, personal training, and mindful recovery to help people stay healthy at work. We’ve being invited to speak on trauma-informed care, and building new community and professional networks that reflect our belief in collaborative, compassionate healthcare.
Every step forward comes from the same place our story began — a desire to help people move better, feel stronger, and live more connected lives.
