About Alyssa

Alyssa Schmidt is the co-owner and connective heart of 4 Points Health & Wellness—someone who brings people, ideas, and care together. With a background in trauma-informed practice and a passion for integrated health, she has shaped 4 Points into a place where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered. When she’s not building community partnerships or guiding the clinic’s vision, you’ll find Alyssa doing what keeps her grounded: personal training sessions with clients, lifting in the gym, tackling river-valley stairs, walking her dog Mary, or playing football. Alyssa blends strength, compassion, and lived experience into everything she does—and it shows in the way she leads, teaches, and cares.

How 4 Points Health Began & Vision

4 Points Team

Alyssa grew up in Edmonton, Alberta with a deep passion for health and well-being. After completing her university degree in Psychology, she worked in an intensive trauma treatment home for children, where she witnessed firsthand the impact of stress, trauma, and physical health on overall well-being. This experience shaped her vision for a more holistic, integrative approach to health—one that goes beyond isolated treatments to address the whole person.

Her journey into health and wellness began with a simple but powerful truth: people thrive when they feel safe, supported, and seen. Her early work with children shaped her understanding of trauma, resilience, and the importance of whole-person care. In 2014, those roots eventually grew into the vision that became 4 Points Health & Wellness based on the belief that true health is built on four essential pillars: physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.

Having faced her own challenges with burnout and balance, Alyssa is committed to helping others navigate their health journey in a sustainable, empowering way. Her mission is to support individuals in becoming the healthiest versions of themselves—so they can thrive not just in their bodies, but in every aspect of life.Today, Alyssa guides the clinic with equal parts heart and strategy. She supports practitioners, builds partnerships across the city, and ensures that every client who walks through the door feels welcomed and cared for. Her leadership is grounded in curiosity, lived experience, and a belief that healing is never just physical—it’s emotional, psychological, and community-based.

Her Role at 4 Points Health & Wellness

Alyssa wears many hats at the clinic, all centered around creating a supportive, effective, client-centered experience:

  • Clinic operations & leadership,

  • Community outreach and partnership development, Client care support & experience design

  • Trauma-informed education for clients and practitioners

  • Workshop and outreach engagement (trauma-informed care, integrated health, team wellness)

  • Supporting a culture where every practitioner feels valued and every client feels safe. She plays the role of connector—the thread that ties the team together and keeps the 4 Points vision moving forward.

A Personal Note from Alyssa

"4 Points was created to be more than a clinic. I wanted to build a space where people feel safe, understood, and capable of becoming who they want to be. My hope is that when you walk through our doors, you feel welcomed—not as a patient, but as a whole person beginning a new chapter in your wellness.”

Workplace Wellness & Community Partnerships

Alyssa plays a key role in connecting 4 Points Health & Wellness with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to support healthier, more resilient workplaces. With a strong background in trauma-informed and integrated care, she works closely with leaders and teams to understand their real-world challenges—stress, injury, burnout, productivity, and culture—and helps translate those needs into practical, human-centered wellness programs. Her approach is rooted in relationships first: listening, learning, and building trust before designing solutions. Alyssa enjoys collaborating with organizations to create thoughtful, sustainable workplace wellness plans that reflect both the people doing the work and the realities of the work itself. From educational talks and workshops to integrated care pathways and ongoing wellness support, she helps bridge the gap between healthcare and the workplace. If you’re curious about exploring wellness initiatives with 4 Points, Alyssa welcomes conversations that start with connection. Personal Training: Why She Still Loves It

Even with the responsibilities of running a clinic, Alyssa still finds deep fulfillment in personal training. Working one-on-one keeps her connected to people’s real challenges, real goals, and real wins. It’s where she feels the heartbeat of the work—supporting someone as they build strength, confidence, and trust in their body.

That balance of leadership and hands-on connection is part of what makes her presence at 4 Points so steady and grounded.
